She has played all kind of roles in her time of bollywood, however, she has never played a parsi character in any movie so far. When asked, Milind Ukey says that he always had this character in mind and at no circumstances would he change the details of the character and it was only Delnaaz that he was sure of to select to make justice to the character and it was a relief knowing Delnaaz was in for the same.
‘’This is definitely the first time that I’d play a Parsi character in a film because I did receive offers to play a parsi character earlier, but I always thought that ‘Parsi’s were portrayed as a caricature and as a fun element and not a real character. I’ve always wanted to do a real character and Monsoon Football is giving me the opportunity to play a real parsi and not be a caricature or be the comic element in the movie. I met Milind sir, I heard the story and I was instantly connected and felt how great the concept was because the thought behind the movie is very impressive. It sure will be challenging to play football, but we’re rehearsing and practicing every now and then to prepare for the character.’’ says Delnaaz Irani about monsoon football and working with Milind Ukey.
