Internationally acclaimed filmmaker Goutam Ghose chose Jharkhand as the backdrop for his new film in Hindi titled RAAHGIR.

The film was shot extensively in the virgin locations of Netarhat and around Ranchi.

Producer Amit Agarwal, under his banner Adarsh Telemedia, who has backed films like M S Dhoni – The Untold Story and Simran is now ready with his latest production RAAHGIR directed by National Award Winning Goutam Ghose starring Adil Hussain, Tillotama Shome and Neeraj Kabi in pivotal roles and it has been garnering great response from few screenings that the makers have held.

The film is being talked about for its beautiful natural locales. The film also speaks about the tribal face of the state… their culture and tradition, folk music, rituals and beliefs. The ‘natua dance’ form which is the core cultural identity of Jharkhand is an integral part of the film and is a showcase of Indian tribal culture for the film’s global audience.

Producer Amit Agrawal is amazed by the beauty of Jharkhand and would want to do more films set in the beautiful state. He is happy that filmmaker Goutam Ghose set the film in unexplored locations and shot the film in the best pictureque manner possible with the latest technologies.
“The locations where we shot are absolutely new for audiences. The whole team was more than mesmerised with the raw beauty of the surroundings”, says Agarwal.

He believes that Jharkhand will not only become a new shooting spot for filmmakers from all over the world but will also become a tourist spot.

“I am sure more people would want to visit the state after seeing the film. I am really hoping that it becomes the new tourist destination in India.“ Agarwal adds.

With Raahgir he also wants to join hands with the Jharkhand government and make it a flagship film not only to attract Indian filmmakers to shoot, but also to showcase investors from across the globe about the potentiality of the state in film business.

The makers are planning to take the film to various film festivals before its theatrical release in India. Amit Agarwal further says that he would like to multiply on producing films in Jharkhand, as he feels that the support here is commendable.
