The penultimate episode of Qu Play’s flagship Show “Quick Heal Bhajji Blast with CSK’ has two world class spinners in a ‘Jugalbandi’. Imran Tahir , the South African spin sensation who is most famous for his unique way of celebrating wickets joins the Turbanator Harbhajan Singh for bowling the death overs of this season of “Quick Heal Bhajji Blast With CSK” .

Harbhajan’s friend of 20 long years stunned him with his story not only regarding his love for cricket but also his story with the love of his life. Imran was born in Lahore and lived there until 2006 before moving to England where he then met his now wife, Sumayya Tahir. When asked about how he met his life partner, Tahir blushed and said, “it’s always the process of meeting the girl’s father first and then the girl.” He further said that during those times there wasn’t social media and the only sources of contact were either emails or phone calls. Later in the conversation, he also said that it took him 8 long years to convince his in-laws and during that time he contacted his wife only through emails.

As the conversation progressed, Harbhajjan took a dig into the tough parts of life that polished Imran to become ‘The Imran Tahir.’ In reply, a reminiscent Imran said, that the major loss was the death of his father after which he returned to England and took up a menial job as a laborer in a factory. He worked a 9 to 6 shift and also practiced. He says that’s when he realized his passion for cricket and came back to Pakistan and played his first U19 World Cup in the year 1998.

After he moved to South Africa in 2006, his lessons from England helped him as he had to cook his own food as he occupied a small room opposite the ground. After that once he began playing for South Africa in 2011 then there was no looking back.

To lighten the mood, Harbhajan enquired about Imran’s taste in food on which he said that he misses the food from Lahore and that he likes Punjabi food too. He also added that India gives him warmth and makes him feel at home. He rejoicingly said that he loved playing for Pune and now for CSK and internationally he loves playing for the country he calls home now, South Africa. The proud teammate then asked Imran on his ways of celebration and they had a great laugh as he explained his victory dances.

Harbhajan and he further spoke about the assistance of technology and the role it plays today. The conversation ended on a lighter note with Harbhajjan and his teammate imagining them having the same conversation 30 years down the line. Their imagination made for some hilarious moments and they ended with clicking selfies.
